Prophecies fulfilled in Roman Catholicism
Biblical prophecies are meant to be fulfilled without fail. The fulfillment proves the existence of the God who foretold them.

DEUTERONOMY 18:22
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Conversely, the fulfillment of an uttered prophecy is the proof that the prophet who said it is sent of God. With this measure many prophets now are the fulfillment of the prophecy about the advent of many false prophets!
MATTHEW 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Prophets sent by God prophesied that many will prefer to listen to false prophets and their fables:
II TIMOTHY 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
The word fable in the Greek language is μῦθος (muthos) which means myth or fiction.

The doctrine of limbo, purgatory, rosary, sign of the cross, mass, the infallibility of the popes, All Souls’ Day, All Saints’ Day and many more are neither Biblical nor sensible! These words, even the very idea they convey, are not Biblical. Nowhere in the Bible can we find the word limbo, purgatory, rosary, mass, sign of the cross, pope, All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day.
If Catholic popes speak infallibly (ex-cathedra) as they claim, why is it that the present pope declared that limbo, which was part of the teachings of all previous popes, is non-existent?
Whether they declare it or not, not only is the doctrine of limbo non-existent. The apostles have not mentioned anything about All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day! The first century Christians did not celebrate a feast for the dead or for the souls in purgatory. Neither can the celebration of “All Hallows Eve” or “Halloween” be found in the Bible!
The Christian faith must be based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ – no more, no less. These teachings were written down on the pages of the Bible by eyewitnesses.

In the writings of Augustine (died, 430 A.D.) the doctrine of purgatory was first given definite form, although he himself expressed doubt about some phases of it. The doctrine about purgatory was proclaimed an article of faith in 1439, by the Council of Florence, and was later confirmed by the Council of Trent, in 1548.

The novena in honour of St. Francis Xavier, known as the “Novena of Grace”, originated as follows: in 1633 Father Mastrilli, S.J., was at the point of death as a result of an accident, when St. Francis Xavier, to whom he had great devotion, appeared to him and urged him to devote himself to the missions of the Indies. Father Mastrilli then made a vow before his provincial that he would go to the Indies if God spared his life, and in another apparition (3 Jan., 1634) St. Francis Xavier exacted of him a renewal of this promise, foretold his martyrdom, and restored him to health so completely that on the same night Father Mastrilli was in a condition to write an account of his cure, and the next morning to celebrate Mass at the altar of the saint and to resume his community life. He soon set out for the Japanese missions where he was martyred, 17 October, 1637. The renown of the miracle quickly spread through Italy, and inspired with confidence in the power and goodness of St. Francis Xavier, the faithful implored his assistance in a novena with such success that it came to be called the “novena of grace”. This novena is now made publicly in many countries from 4 to 12 March, the latter being the date of the canonization of St. Francis Xavier together with St. Ignatius.

Hi Nikki, with all due respect to you, i believe we as Christians, although differing in some beliefs, must focus on what is common to us and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. in that way, we become united in our goal and that is to proclaim the Kingship of our Lord Jesus. The moment someone begins antagonizing others because of their differences, that’s what makes our enemy jump for joy. Mind you, i have lots of devout Muslim friends and yet we dwell on what is right and common within our faith.

Where in the Bible can you find that “Christians” must focus on what is common to us? It’s evident that you don’t understand what the word “Christian” is. Not everyone who claims they are Christians are really so (Mat. 7:21).
No one is antagonizing others here. Bro Eli is showing real love to others in showing them the truth. If you don’t like hearing the truth, then that is fake love (Rom. 12:9).

If we want to faithfully “focus on … the Lord Jesus Christ” (as quoted from you) then we should acknowledge that he preached only one set of doctrines, which is written in the Bible.
Proclaiming the Lord’s Kingship is not just by mere words but by obedience to all His teachings. Now, as there are different religions practicing different set of doctrines, meaning: there are religious groups that have a different set of doctrines from that one the Lord preached, as written in the Bible.
We don’t just say we’re Christians. We have to act like one. For example, the Bible says that a woman should dress in modest apparel, then would you consider a lady donning an indecent attire as a Christian?
Religion and spirituality adjusts and adopts to culture and history, and vice-versa. That’s why we don’t wear animal skins today , nor we don’t wear the dress code of Jesus’ culture and religion. That’s why Roman Catholicism is constantly growing, adopting and changing as the world is changing.
Who told you that? That’s blasphemous! Is that the teachings of your church? Is that how you see the Fellowship of Christ?
Our Spirituality in God is eternal. The bible states that the LORD is not bounded by Time or Space (because He created them, He is outside greater than Time and Space) let alone culture and history. The Laws of the LORD (10 Commandments, Mosaic Law, Sabbath, etc.) endure forever as stated in the Bible, our Savior Christ came to complete/finish the Law, not completely abolish it. The Laws can be used as a guide on how to live fully while here on Earth. One interesting thing about God’s commandments is that they are generic, they are always applicable even in the Internet age. You can’t just go on changing and compromising your beliefs based on worldly events or because it pleases your Babylonian and Pagan friends.
And use some wisdom, you don’t have to wear animal skins (especially if you’re not Jewish) you just need some enough cover so your neighbors won’t be lusting for you.

In the New Covenant… prophecy are fulfilled in the Catholic Church because if the church failed the bible will also fail. For example are the verses in Matthew 24:24; ACTS 3:22-20; 1 JOHN 4:1; II TIMOTHY 4:3-4… which you quoted are written by catholic saints which are Church prophecies before the books of the N.T. were written.
Jesus established the Church in 33 A.D. and the New Testament was not yet written. When Jesus preached the good news he was using the Septuagint Version of the bible. There were people who did not believe in him as the Christ. After his death his followers wrote the N.T. and not necessarily by his apostles who are hebrews… because if the N.T. was written by his apostles it should have been in Hebrew. Most of the followers of Jesus are the gentiles and the greeks or hellenists who probably wrote the N.T. Jesus a Jew was not believed by his own people because his doctrine is not jewish but greek.

Speaking “ex-cathedra” is not a claim but it is biblical. It is written in 1 Tim. 3:15; “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” When the pope for example is lying in the teaching of morals and dogma then the Church is a failure and the bible subsequently will fail also.
Infallibility does not mean that the pope is a perfect man or that he’ll always say the right thing at the right time. He is infallible when it comes to the teaching of morals and dogma.

All Souls and all Saints are mentioned in the bible. It is celebrated in the light of the Faith in the Lord Jesus and His gift of Salvation for all of us: for those in Heaven who have already achieved the fullness of Salvation, for the Souls in Purgatory who are on their way to Heaven and for us here on earth still struggling to live a life worthy of the Gospel.
Much has been said over the centuries of a “third” place that people go to after death. You can read this in II Maccabees 12:43-46.
Why a need for purgation after one’s sin has already been forgiven? The premier example from the Bible comes from David, in the book of 2 Samuel 12:13-14:
“David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die. Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the LORD, the child that is born to you shall die.”
The primary reason for establishing a common feast day was because of the desire to honor the great number of martyrs, especially during the persecution of Emperor Diocletion (284-305), the worst and most extensive of the persecutions.

Who are the early eyewitnesses of the bible… there is no other than the “Early Church Fathers” who are catholics in their belief. The “Letter to the Hebrews” is authenticated by experts to be a homily inside the church. It is believed this letter was not written by St. Paul. The original letter has no author. It can be surmised that this “Letter to the Hebrews” was written by one of the early “Church Fathers”.

The doctrine about purgatory is traditional among the early christians. But it is not popular because early christianity were not of greek believers alone. There were jewish people among them who did not accept first the doctrine of purgatory and the resurrection. Which is why I and II Maccabees in the Council of Jamnia the books were rejected from the Hebrew canon. But the jewish people accept the books as part of their history.
The two books of Maccabees were part once upon a time of the Hebrew canon. When the 72 rabbis translated the bible into greek which became the Septuagint version of the bible. Since it became the basis of christianity in the doctrine of purgatory the jews rejected it as canonical.
And traditionally the Jews prayed for their dead as it is written in the bible.

Eastern Orthodox have a similar teaching of purgatory but they don’t used that particular word. Mr. Eli Soriano my answer to you is very easy to understand. Purgatory is a derivative word. The word in particular is not in the bible but the idea is present through the phrase; “PURGED OUR SINS”.
The definition of the Catholic Church on the existence of purgatory is derived from Sacred Scripture and the Sacred Tradition.

The catholic tradition regarding the remembrance of the dead is based in the life and passion of Jesus Christ. Therefore it is a bible based tradition. It did not originate in 1633 in the novena honoring St. Francis Xavier. How can you be sensible if you keep on twisting the phrases and its interpretation.
The remembrance and prayers [novena] for 40 days is based on the 40 days that Jesus stayed on earth after his resurrection until his going up to heaven. St. Luke said in the bible in Acts 1:1-3…

If you want us to acknowledge that the Roman Catholic Church is the One True Church founded by Christ, present us a genuine straight-to-the-face passage from the Holy Scriptures that says “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and you must call it the Roman Catholic Church” or something close to that. Please have the guts to step out of your doctrines first and show us solid proof of your roots, for example, that Peter actually created the idea of the rosary (wow) and not by some random corrupted man 1000 years later. Of course, not all of history is written. but can you tell us where the “stories” you’re talking about came from? can you trace back to the origins of your doctrines and prove to us that it was in fact Christ who taught them? Certainly, the answer is NO.
The life and death, and the Resurrection were all written in the bible, but it made no mention of the Messiah teaching something very “important” as the place called purgatory, or the conflicting belief of infant baptism, etc. How come? Because they weren’t from Christ. Those teachings only came about hundreds of years after the death of Christ, by your so-called forefathers. You can narrate to us through your history books how and why your forefathers, your popes and saints, did this and that during the 14th or 16th century but that’s it, you can’t go beyond that. That’s because there’s NO actual link between the Catholic Church and the 1st century followers of Christ! The Roman Catholic Church are just full of centuries-old stories (with various modified versions through the years) fabricated by your forefathers. That’s why we Christians have faith in the Holy Scripture, the preserved Truth. You must not rely on your priests alone.

but that’s different because it’s a commandment that came directly from the LORD. The LORD gave Israel detailed specifications on the Ark of the Covenant, as well as clear instructions on how to worship and prepare the altars. But they didn’t dare go as far as creating a carved image of the LORD. (that’s an abomination! gaya ng mga pisikal na rebulto sa simbahang katoliko!) The Ark of the Covenant is a direct commandment of God, unlike the ‘rebultos’ of the catholics. I don’t think the Catholics have the authority over God’s commandments to make factories of sto. nino or saint statues whenever they wish. However good their intentions are, it’s still a SIN. The gold calf that Aaron made without God’s consent was actually meant to represent God (Exodus 32:4-5) as was the case of Micah (Judges 17). Nevertheless, God strictly forbade this.

By their fallen nature, it seems to me that Catholics want to make God into their image. Many of them “carve” their own concept of God or Jesus and assume that this is the God of the Bible. People who do this must be extremely careful with their “carving” and realize that it’s an insult to God. It takes effort to understand and accept the God of the Bible, and His Greatness cannot just be carved in stone.

One of the teachings of the Bible said by apostle Matthew 23:9 – “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” Catholic members has their “fathers” every where. Why do we have to add the word Catholic when Jesus Christ never ever uttered such a word?

The discourse here are the belief which are not biblical. Why believe in such things written by supposed to be saints or popes which cannot be traced in the Bible? Please let it be known that even some parts of the later editions of some Bible are already distorted. That’s why we have to trace it back to the original Scriptures. There is no need of writings of these supposed to be saints to understand the Bible. You need good heart and deeds, then God will guide you to His truth. Many Eli Soriano’s follower thought that they are following the Bible,or member of the real Church of God.they are sincere people who are passionate about their faith.

The Bible is the most important book in the universe.It actually doesn’t claim that it is the sole authourity in regards to true faith. However, it points us to the Church.Read 1 Timothy 3:15. This Church is said to be,’The foundation and pillar of Truth”.Now we know that this foundation that God himself laid ,is for us to be part,and its teaching to follow. We should embrace it for the fulness of truth is where to be found.In as much as it is ‘the foundation of truth,’then it follows that it never ceased to exist since Christ founded it.

The Catholic Church has discipline of celibacy and we also do abstinence and fasting.To inform you, there are also Catholic Priest that are married and this are ‘true catholics’,they are in different rites,an example is the Greek rite Catholics.
Now, concerning about the Roman rite priest there are few things we have to consider;first, no one is FORCED to go to seminary against his will. The moment they enter the seminary they have to volitionally have chosen to follow that discipline.Second,They have many oppurtunity to stop if they think that priesthood is not their calling.
Third, if a priest want to marry because he thinks that he cannot keep his vow then he can get married in the Church.
He will always be priest but as a married person he has to look after his family and children. He has to get a job to feed them.

Couldn’t find an e-mail address for you so I’m using this comment facility to ask a question. How do you justify the incredible suffering experience by many children in the world throughout history. They are innocent and have commited no crime, and yet they suffer illness, abuse, famine, natural disasters, they are made to work like slaves, fight in armies are tortured, sometimes in the name of religion. Surely a merciful god should prevent this. I don’t accept the argument that it is man doing as it is not always (take the example of the guinea worm, or various cancers that children can suffer from these are God made, not man made) and anyway, if there is someone in charge, surely the suffering of these innocents should not be tolerated.

praying to God that our fellow Filipinos embraced the word of God, the doctrine of Christ and not man-made doctrines. If is not in the Bible, let us not follow it. All were written in the Bible for our salvation. If one believes that the Bible is inspired by God, why added and deducted commandments, why not following it? Your church can’t even follow a simple commandment of not making graven images. That’s why I call the Catholic Church as the Catholic Unchristian Church because the doctrines are based on traditions and superstitious beliefs. Nothing is true on that Church. Can you call a church “christian” when they themselves persecuted innocent souls from the dark ages, the burning at stake of alleged witches and those who defy the catholic faith? Christians do not kill, Christians do not persecute people. Christians love their enemies and not kill them. The Spanish friars killed so many Filipinos during the colonial time. And yet, you call the Catholic Church a Christian Church???
I think you should be the one who needs to open your mind and eyes and leave the Catholic faith because it is not worth staying and defending in that Church.

In KJV it was translated as” vain repitition”,this is an error on part of the translator.In Greek however,it says”polylogia” which means “many” for “poly”, logea for”words”. Hence, it means many words. Notice that the rosary prayer don’t actually used many words ,rather we only repeat them.when we pray the rosary we meditate on The salvation history , on Jesus Christ life.
As I said before, rosary is a beautiful repititiuos prayer.for nothing that comes from the mouth of God,or from the Holy Spirit is vain,yes even when it is repeated.

@Winnie Look! Before you site biblical verses, you need to make sure you understood what you sited. Why? Is the catholic translation a more correct bible translation? As an FYI, the catholic translation is just one of the paraphrased bible translation. I’d better rely on King James since it is closer to the original scriptures, not a paraphrased version. Did you ever know this? Of course, I’m not saying that the KJV is a more reliable bible version, that is why you have research and compare translations, and it so happen that KJV is a little bit closer than the catholic translation.
Now, going back to Matt 6:7. Isn’t it very clear that Jesus Christ forbid us to pray in repetition or in many words? Whether you interpret it as “may words”, “repetition” or “babble”, those mean them same thing. The rosary is an instrument of babbling words, or praying in many words. Imagine, repeating Hail Mary 50 or even 53 times in a row and “Our Father” 10 or 11 times in a row. That will take you a good 20 to 30 minutes just reciting non-sense memorized words when in fact Jesus cited an example prayer “The lords prayer” to us, which will only take you in a matter of less than 5 minutes. Very concise and brief and direct to the point.
A prayer should not be memorized words. A prayer is a petition, asking God what you wish in this life. If you are reciting the rosary or novena as a prayer then God may say to you, “I do not know what you want…” because you have to shorten your words or be brief when you speak to God as the bible says.
Another thing is that, I think it is the opposite when you say “why hate the ways of Christ and the heavenly angels”. Isn’t it the Catholic hate the ways of Christ and the will of the Father in heaven? Also, why are you including the heavenly Angels? Are you saying you are worshiping angels as well? Oh my… Winnie, I think you are lost. Angels are not to be worshiped, only the Father in heaven and Jesus Christ and the holy spirit are to be worshiped.
Another thing is you sited Revelation 4:8. Those words from the creatures are not prayers, they are praising God day and night; and again, prayers are different from praising.

Try to research, searching for the truth will not endanger your soul to damnation but it will feed your soul with enlightenment. Again, do not close doors because there is no reason why you should.

Why do we honor Mary?
The Catholics devotion to Mary expressed by honoring Her in different ways are based on scripture.
Mt 18:10- the angels in heaven always behold the face of God. We venerate them for their great dignity and union with God.
Mt 15:4; Lk 18:20; Eph 6:2-3; Exodus 20:12; Lv 19:3; Dt 5:16- we are instructed to honor our father and mother
Lk 1:28- the angel Gabriel venerates Mary by declaring to Her, “Hail, full of Grace.” The heavenly angel honors the human Mary, for her perfection of grace exceeds of the Angels.
Romans 13:7- we are to give honor where honor is due. When we honor God’s children, honor God Himself, for He is the source of all honors.
1 Cor :4:16- the most important form of veneration of the saints is “imitating” the saints, as Paul commands us to do.
Phil 2:25-29- Paul teaches us to honor Epaphroditus who almost died for the faith. How much honor is owed to the saints that died for the faith!
Phil 3:17- Paul exhorts his audience to imitate him and others, which is the goal of veneration, veneration is not worship.
1 Thes 1:6- Paul says to the Thessalonians, “You became imitators for us and of the Lord.” This is the goal of veneration.
2 Thes 3:7- Paul says that the Thessalonians should imitate him and the other bishops.
Hebrew 3:3- Jesus is worthy of “more” glory and honor than Moses. This does not mean that saints are not worthy of glory and honor. Instead, it proves the saintly people are worthy of glory and honor out of God’s goodness.
Hebrew 6:12- the author teaches us to be imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Heb 13:7- we must imitate the faith of our faithful leaders. We ask for their holiness.
James 5:10-11- James teaches us to take heart in the examples of the prophets and Job, who endured suffering.
1 Peter 2:17- Peter teaches us to honor all men, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the emperor. Don’t those living with Christ in heaven deserve honor? Catholics believe they do, and honor them with special feast days, just as we honor those living by celebrating their birthdays.
Gn 19:1- Lot venerates the two angels in Sodom, bowing himself with his face to the ground.
Gn 42:6- Joseph’s brothers bow before him with their faces to the ground. This is veneration, not worship.
Exodus 28:2- it is especially important to honor religious leaders. Sacred garments for Aaron give him dignity and honor.
Lv 19:32- we should also honor “the face of an old man”. When the elderly die in Christ, we should continue honoring them, because death does not separate them from us or the love of Christ.
1Sm 28:14- Saul bows down before Samuel with his face to the ground in veneration.
2 Chr 32:33- Hezekiah was honored at his death. We honor our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Sir 44:1-2- we should praise and give honor to those whom the Lord apportioned great glory. It is our family in Christ.

SIGN OF THE CROSS!
The great Catholic Tradition- making of the sign of the Cross- is mocked and teased today by some anti-Catholics because of the latter’s ignorance about the Biblical and historical basis of this spiritual tradition. We make sign of the Cross on our foreheads, decorate our churches with the Cross and administer sacraments with the sane sign.
BIBLICAL BASIS: When we make the Sign of the Cross, we proclaim the Message of SALVATION purchased by Jesus through the cross. The Bible clearly states: “FOR THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS IS FOOLISH TO THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING, BUT TO US WHO ARE BEING SAVED, is the POWER OF GOD” (1Cor. 1:18)
THE BIBLE TEACHES US TO BE PROUD OF IT as the message of the Cross is the POWER OF GOD; “BUT GOD FORBID THAT I SHOULD BOAST EXCEPT IN THE CROSS OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, BY WHOM THE WORLD HAS BEEN CRUCIFIED TO ME AND I TO THE WORLD” (Gal.6:14)
THE CROSS SYMBOLIZES OUR DAY TO DAY SUFFERINGS without which there is no crown for Christians. When Peter tried to keep Jesus away from the Cross, He called Peter “SATAN” So it is clear, Satan is afraid and keeps himself away from the Cross as it is through the Cross that Jesus destroyed the devil’ kingdom and saved mankind from slavery of sin and death. We should not forget the WARNING OF ST. PAUL. “Brethren, join in imitating me, and mark those who live as you have an example in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, live as enemies of the CROSS OF CHRIST. Their God belly, and they glory in their shame, with mind set on earthly things.
THE HISTORICAL BASIS: Early Christians, even before the BIBLE was formed kept this spiritual practice, to keep satan away and to save themselves from the power of evil.
CYRIL OF JERUSALEM wrote in A.D. 386: “Let us therefore not be ashamed of the Cross of Christ; but though another hide it, do thou openly zeal it upon thy forehead, that the devils may beheld the royal sign and flee trembling far away. Make then this sign at eating and drinking, at sitting, at lying down, at rising up, at speaking, at walking, in a word, at every act.”
EPHREM OF SYRIA testifies in A.D. 373 “Make your actions with the sign of the life giving Cross. Do not go out from “the doors of your house till you have signed yourself with the cross. Do not neglect that sign whether in eating and drinking or going to sleep, or in the home or going on a journey. There is no habit to be compared with it. Let it be a protecting wall around all your conduct, teach it to you children that they may earnestly learn the custom.”
Thousands of saints used this sign to be victorious over satanic attacks as it is through this sign that Jesus made possible the forgiveness of our sins. In the Christian world, the Sign of the Cross was widely used very effectively in exorcism through out the centuries. Christians must use this sign proudly as it terrifies saran and the bible proves it.
JESUS says: “Take your cross and follow me.” Centuries old spiritual experiences of Holy People show that satan is afraid of the sign of the Cross and he hates it.
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF MARY is BIBLICALLY SUPPORTED!
By the Immaculate Conception, we believe that God preserved Mary from her birth as “sinless”. All men have sinned and lost the grace from God” (Rom.2:23); “through Adam all men became sinful” (Rom. 5:12). Christian belief holds that we are freed from this bondage of sin through baptism, Mary had the fullness of God’s grace as Angel Gabriel revealed “Hail Mary, full of Grace” (lk.1:28). The Greek word “Charitoo” which means “FULLNESS OF GRACE” or “HIGHLY FAVORED WITH GRACE” is used only two times in the Bible:
1. before Christ’s redemption, in the salutation of Gabriel;
2. after Christ’s redemption (Eph. 1:6) ‘as Chirst grace given to us’.
It shows that the fruits of redemption were given “highly favored with grace.” The words of the angel “FULL OF GRACE” itself shows SHE IS SINLESS.
Gen.3:15- “I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your offspring and her, she will strike at your head.” From the early centuries of Christianity, this was considered as a prophecy about Mary and her Son Jesus (Iraneus of Lyons 140 A.D). This enmity is nothing but mutual hatred between Mary and sin. It can never be true that Mary also is stained by sin. As she was the WOMAN foretold in Genesis, Jesus from the Cross mentioned Mary as “WOMAN”
In the Old testament, there are many evidences that God prepared the mothers for the purity of their Child who are the ‘selected ones’ of God. God asked the mother of Samson to be pure (Jud.13:3-4). Manoah was asked to keep the wife pure (Jud.13:13). How much more would God be interested to keep the state of His own Mother’s womb?
The early Fathers of the Church, whom we have to trust to know the genuine nature of the Bible and those who formed the Canons of the Bible, all defended this early Christian faith. Iraneus of Lyons, AD 140, is the one who wrote the term “IMMACULATE” and “most pure” for Mary. St. Augustine of Hippo (AD395) wrote: “Mary; free from Original sin.”
It was Pope Pius IX who proclaimed this early belief of Christians as official (Ex Cathedra) in AD 1854. In 1858, Blessed Virgin Mary herself appeared to young girl named Bernadette in Lourdes and revealed: “I AM THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION.”
The Assumption of Mary is based on the faith in Her Immaculate Conception. AS Shes was sinless- “FULL OF GRACE” at the end of Her earthly life- She was received body and soul into heavenly glory. The Bible says “death is the wage of sin” (Rom 6:23). “Sin came to all” (Rom.5:12). As Mary was sinless, she need not accept the wages of sin. She destroyed sin as She is the ‘WOMAN’ who struck at the head of satan (Gen.3:15). Freedom of Mary from original sin frees her from its consequences also. It is to fulfill the prophecies about her in Genesis 3:15. In the early Christian Centuries, this was accepted as a REVEALED TRUTH! Even some APOCRYPHAL books narrate “The body of the Mother of God should never lie in a sepulcher.”
