All my life I have been interested in Science. Fate has it, I believe, that this interest led me to the study of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible even enhanced my interest in everything scientific. The first time I heard Johnny Mathis singing “Fly Me to the Moon,” the lyrics and the melody were already printed in my mind. Do you want me to prove this? Pardon my voice, but I can sing it with gusto!
I am interested about everything around me. I observe keenly how ants move, how birds fly, and how people live their lives. In my elementary grades, when I first heard the Darwinian Theory on evolution, the first doubt that came into my mind was that, if humans came from apes, why are there people with faces that look like horses and dogs?
I am not a scientist and have never finished any degree in any branch of Science, but I always have with me a scientific attitude and approach in the study of everything I am interested in. The very recent discovery of a planet 2 light-years away from the earth, which they say is very much ‘earth-like,’ made it to the headlines of global news reports. This led to the resurrection of the very frequently asked question: Is there life in other places of the universe? Are there other planets that can sustain life much like that of the earth? I am sure of the answer! And my answer comes from the book which I have revered all my life because it is the only book that I found to be logical and scientific in answering not only the questions of hundreds of thousands of people I am favored to meet, but my own questions which I do not hear from other people. The Bible has it!
In the book of Acts 17:26-27, it is written –
“And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling, to seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and find Him, though indeed He is not far from each one of us.”
The verse mentions the planet Earth, and we must especially notice the phrase “bounds of their habitation”. Scientists agree that until now, with all their sophisticated equipments, they have not yet found in the Solar system, or in our galaxy, much more in other distant galaxies, a place that can sustain or support human life. The recent planet discovered has a temperature of 300 degrees centigrade below zero, with its size, 5.5 times larger than that of the earth, and with its year, much shorter than an earth year, implying that it moves on a greater speed than the earth, and revolving on a star which is very much fainter than our sun. It is scientifically impossible for us to live in such a place, period.
God is an exact God. Reduce the size of the earth; reduce the heat of the sun; and we will freeze. Make it a little closer to the sun and we will be baked or burned. Make it as large as Mars and our weight will be more than doubled. The Earth’s size and distance from the sun are the exact measurements needed to sustain human life! GOD MEASURED IT.
You want proof? Read the book of Job 38:4, it says:
“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell if you have understanding! Who has set its measurements, for you know? Or who has stretched the line on it? On what are its bases sunk, or who cast its cornerstone…”
After all, the universe is the handy work of God’s hand. Psalms 19:1-3 has this to say:
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor are there words; their voice is not heard.”
Undoubtedly, there are other planets in our own galaxy and in billion other galaxies, but the reason why God created man on Earth from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7) is because it is the only planet in the entire universe wherein human life will comfortably fit. Think of this: The best place for your eyes is where it is now. Put them a little below, i.e., in the belly or thighs and you can imagine how ugly your person will be. Put your nose or ears in other places of your body and you will not be a work of art, as written in the book of Hebrews 2:6-7.
“But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:” Human efforts and resources, which scientists devote in searching for other worlds that can sustain life, will be futile! Let us search, instead, from the Holy Scriptures the kingdom and the righteousness of God and discover a world called a “new Earth” where righteousness, peace, and love dwell (2 Peter 3:13).
“But according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

Only a fool would try to oppose this biblical explation. When I was kid, I used to believe on the possible existence of another planet where men can live. The excitement of riding spacecrafts to reach that planet really thrilled me. But now, I’m exited on seeing the New Earth that God has promised. And we don’t need a spacecraft anymore. The vessel–the CHURCH OF GOD.

I too weep for humanity when I read this.
Only one explanation needed for your presumed problem of the “earth-like” planets we are finding:
We just recently were able to scientifically prove that these planets were even near such stars.
The process in which we find such planets is by watching the star very carefully- observing the wobble.
If a planet is far from the star, or the star dim(like ours in comparison to the stars we look at), or if the planet is small- we will not be able to detect the wobble. Thus, we only detect the largest objects which are very near the very bright stars! Hah, sounds so simple… Just think how far we are from our sun, and how small we are compared to even our own planets.
The last planet found was very small comparatively to what has been found previously. The planet which I assume you are referring to was about 20 light years away, not 2. True, you are not a scientists. Neither am I, but it doesn’t take a scientists to be logical and factual.
Entertain this question if you would:
What if- there is found to be life on another planet, does that create such a horrible void in your beliefs?
It’s very possible that God created many other planets of different size, near differently sized stars, at different distances. Isn’t it? The universe is so vast, it would be a miracle if it were not so.
I’m not sure I understand the reluctance towards these ideas.

-Larry, everyone is entitled to their own idea. And Bro Eli is factually wrong, the new planet is 20 light years away… So give Larry a break. Theres nothing wrong with disecting what someone says, even someone as “great” as Bro Eli, because even the best of people can stumble sometimes. I believe that no other preacher in present dispensation can surpass nor equal the wisdom that bro. eli possesses, as a serious bible reader and an environmentalist by profession, the more I listen to his preachings the more I become appreciative to God’s Wisdom that can be manifested through His diverse creations and His unspeakable gifts and I believe that only bro eli soriano can lead us to notice these wonderful things from God that eventually will you to spiritual enlightenment.
Those who claim to be preachers of God who just rely on their college degrees, they just sow confusion over the t.v, radio and the internet that will draw us away from God instead of bringing us closer to God, so I would rather listen to a preacher who is not a college graduate who can explain clearly different subject matters of science and matters of faith based on the Holy Scriptures!

I do not know much about the planet that Mr. Soriano is referencing but as I read his article I realized that his facts cannot be trusted. He wrote that the temperature of the planet is minus 300 degrees centigrade. I don’t know where he learned that temperature but it was not from a scientific source. There is no such thing as minus 300 degrees centigrade – absolute zero is minus 273 degrees centigrade – you can’t get any colder.

Absolute Zero is a theory in quantum physics first proposed by Albert Einstein which states that it neither absorbs nor emits energy, also called Zero Point Energy.
On the other hand, your claim that nothing can get any colder than negative 273 degrees centigrade, f.y.i., that’s INACCURATE.
The right term in Thermodynamics is Absolute Zero Temperature, which technically speaking, exceeds your -273 degrees celsius … because Zero (0) Kelvin is equal to -273.15 degrees celsius on scale! more than -0.15, ok.
if you want to dispute minor technicalities, then let me tell you that the New Planet being refered here is actually reported to have surface temparature of 364 degrees below zero farenheight or in degree celsius is equal to -220. It is named “OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb”. So far, it is believed to be the smallest planet known outside our solar system orbiting a normal star. But since it’s too cold, it can’t support life as we know it, just like here on our planet Earth.

I believe and agree on all what you said but I just want to know what the Bible say about the UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) whose existence cannot be denied due to sightings and experiences of encounters. There aren’t any stars (let alone exoplanets) that are closer.
The fact that the closest star is actually 4.2 light years away does not diminish my point.
OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb (according to wikipedia) is 21,500 ± 3,300 light years away from Earth. 2 light years is hardly a rounding error from 21,500 light years. Neither is -300 C vs -273 C especially for someone who claims he “always have with me a scientific attitude and approach in the study of everything I am interested in.”

thanks bro. eli for your perfect answer… last month i was just thinking if aliens or extraterrestrial beings are real. and then i watch videos about ufos, aliens and other videos about our universe. and then one day i wake up and get my father’s bible to find a concrete answer or a biblical answer. i believe that in any instances if there is other beings outside this planet, i know God created them, we dont know the reason why God created them.Only God knows.

The Earth has an elliptical orbit around the Sun. The distance of the Earth from the Sun varies. At the closest, the Earth is at 147,166,462 km from the Sun and at the farthest, the Earth is at 152,171,522 km away from the Sun. That’s not little by any means. However with this varied orbit around the Sun, it has little effect on the Earth’s temperature – only about 3.5%.
Temperature changes or seasonal changes depend on the tilt of the Earth’s axis because they lead to changes in the amount of heat delivered to a square meter of surface.
To be scorched with heat, the Earth has to be near the orbit a little closer to Venus or Mercury. And, size reduction has nothing to do with temperature. Only perhaps, the gravity field will be very weak like the moon.
2. “Make it as large as Mars and our weight will be more than doubled.”
Circumference –
The size of Mars : 21,377 km
The size of Earth : 40,041 km
My weight on Earth : 70 kg
My weight on Mars : 26.3 kg
How can the Earth be as large as Mars? How can your weight be more than doubled on Mars?
1. GOD has accounted global warming, so simple (.^_^.)
In rearranging heavenly bodies, you don’t move them “a little” using human perspective of little. That “little” must mean millions of kilometers, of course. Slight changes in the position of other heavenly bodies will surely move the Earth ” a little millions of kilometers” while maintaining that elliptical orbit.
You don’t need to be as close as Venus to be scorched with heat. The 37 deg C temperature here in our country during summer is already scorching for me (.^_^.)
And to make it clear, the phrase “reduce the heat of the sun” is not an appositive. The compound sentence where it is inclusive is discussing the conditions wherein humans will freeze. It’s the same as “reduce size + reduce heat”.
2. It’s a typo, for sure. No big deal. Mars is approx. 40% of Earth, so as the gravity effect. Google can show it in a click. Not a complex concept.

Impressive! Sometimes when Bro. Eli answers, it is out of bounds at the first instance, then when you listen up closely, then you will realize it is logical, especially when he quotes his basis in the Bible.
He is a man of God! A gift of God to humanity!
That verse about “God set boundaries” in Job 38:4 and Acts 17:26-27 can actually simply means that God put life conditions that’s suitable ONLY for Earth inhabitants, but it doesn’t mean that God CAN’T “set another boundaries” in another planet, or universe.
So these verses, when viewed with more OPEN-mind (and out-of-box thinking), can actually be parallel with Science, and Astronomy.
In fact, you will also be surprised if I showed sort of VICE VERSA of how Bible *ACTUALLY* have a lot of verses that support the possible existence of aliens/ETs (one hint: Genesis 6:3-4 !), and many others.
Remember, keep an Open-minded always.
And always, always discern what OTHER people said, even if it’s of higher authority.

No one said that GOD cannot set another boundaries in another universe. I don’t know to whom you are arguing. The accounts in Job and Acts doesn’t say so.
No one will be surprised if you post verses that, for sure, you do not understand.
Gen 6:3-4 refers to giants who are the sons of angel-man intercourse. “Sons of GOD” refers to angels. Job 1:6; 38:7.
I’m sorry but it seems you are the one with a motive here. Science and mathematical probability tells us that it is almost impossible that other heavenly bodies will cradle life as we know it on Earth. If you are referring to another life form, then that’s more of a fantasy, as your science will find it harder to explain that.
